Hungary Lacrosse used a strong combination of ball control and tight defense to start the international round robin tournament off with a pair of wins.
In the first game, Hungary defeated Puerto Rico 8 – 4. Midfielder Alex Bookout led the team with 1 goals and 2 assists. Jason Rozembersky notched 2 goals, Bryan Connolly and Tyler Martin each added a goal and an assist. Dylan Portnoy and Jonathan Frank each added a goal. Long Stick Midfielder Oliver Hollo scored a goal and tallied 5 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. George Rohonczy went 7/13 at the face-off X and Noah Johnson made 3 saves while defensemen Kristof Vitok, Mark Sund, and Coloman DeBor played excellent defense, limiting opportunities of a strong Puerto Rico offense.

In the second game, Hungary defeated Portugal 6 – 3. Jonathan Frank tallied 3 goals, while Tristan Otto had 2 assists. Tyler Martin and Oliver Hollo each had 1 goal and 1 assist. Oliver Hollo added 4 ground balls, and Alex Bookout added a goal. George Rohonczy went 8/11 at the face-off X. Kristof Vitok, Mark Sund, and Coloman DeBor played clamp down defense, allowing less than 10 shots in the contest. Noah Johnson made 4 saves.
